An apple a day...

Hello all, I'm here today with some exciting news.  I'm happy to announce I'm a designer for 3 Girl Jam!  This is a family owned business ran by the wonderful Julie of "A Little Bit of Bling" and her two daughters. If you know me, you know I LOVE ribbon, and the best ribbon for what I love to do is Crinkle Ribbon.  3GJ has all kinds of pretty colors to choose from.  I'm so excited and can't wait to start designing.  There are some amazing designers on this first design team.  So, be on the look out for some great 3 Girl Jam projects! 

Also tomorrow I will be a guest designer over at The Corrosive Challenge Blog! It will be a fun challenge so I hope you stop by tomorrow!

The Corrosive: Things are looking Grimm

I used a Sassy Studio Designs Snow White image and colored her with Promarkers.  I colored her three different times, before I got one I was happy with.  It was hard for me to color with the grays and black.  I'm trying a different paper and I'm not a fan of it.  I wanted this card to be a little dark.  As some of you know the Grimm fairytales are a little darker then Disney.  Also I'm in love with the show Once Upon a Time! It's a little on the dark fairytale side...That show ROCKS! 

I do love how this card came out.  The inside will say "An apple a day, will keep the doctor away" Get Well soon!  I think that will be cute.  What do you think?

Hello all,  I'm here today (super LATE) with a card for Simply Betty Halloween Challenge. Spring Break has really messed me up!   I was chosen last month to be the Halloween Queen.  I was so happy...it came with some AWESOME prizes...LOVE IT!  

The challenge is to use fabric and sewing.  This challenge was so much fun, I used the AWESOME Witchy Wednesday and colored her with my ProMarkers.  The sentiment is from Joy's Life halloween set.  I hope you go on over for a chance to be the next Halloween Queen!

I used this cute SC called Canary Love, I colored her with ProMarkers. I had so much fun coloring her.  I'm still trying to learn what colors go together.  I used Mother's Day Bouquet cart for the flowers and Create a Critter for the kite.  I added some twine and bling to the kite.  I used crinkled ribbon to make the grass.  The scallop border is a MS punch that I pieced together so it would go around the picture. I'm so in love with this card. It's just prefect for Spring!

No Word Verification

Hello all, Hope your week is off to a great start. 

Today I have a non-crafty post, yet it has everything to do with crafting and well, the world wide web in general! Lately I've been seeing a lot of bloggers mention word verification and how much they *ahem* dislike it. I definitely sit on the same side of the fence with them. What is word verification? It's exactly what you see below and most commonly found with blogs via Blogger. If you have a blog and don't know what this is, you may have it turned on and not even know it!

 

No problem, I'll tell you exactly what it is. It is an annoying little feature that makes readers/commenters have to verify that they are indeed human before being able to leave you a comment on your blog. I follow hundreds of blogs and I LOVE to leave comments. So when I take the time to comment, I expect to leave my comments without any hassle. Word verification is a big hassle. In fact, sometimes it takes me 2 tries before I'm able to leave some compliments on your blog and by that time, you're lucky I haven't even given up! It frustrates me to no end when I've tried that many times to "prove that I'm not a robot." 

If spam is annoying (it is!), you have options to filter spam on your settings and so what if the odd spam message goes through? It's just an extra commitment you have as a blog owner to go and delete it. Blogger is really good at catching spam. Really, really hate spam?! No worries, just turn off word verification and change your settings so that you need to approve/review all comments before they get posted on your blog. Easy peasy!

I love so many blogs and some of my FAVORITE blogs have this on PLEASE turn it off!

That's just my little vent of the day. Please be a good blogging friend and turn off word verification.
